I am so excited to be building a list of such talented authors and illustrators! The first time I felt like I could picture myself as the main character of a story, I cried. My goal is to push for greater representation of underrepresented voices in publishing––it is so important for us to have stories featuring different racial/ethnic backgrounds, cultures, religions, the LGBTQ+ community, disabled characters, neurodivergent characters, fat characters, characters facing mental health challenges, and characters at the intersection of any combination of these characteristics. We all deserve to feel seen, heard, included, and understood––to have a sense of belonging.
